We are opening the first of our Institutional Series, with an event on the European Parliament with Sir Graham Watson. Sir Watson will discuss a broad range of topics from transparency to the changing relationship between the Parliament and Commission. This event will be interesting and useful to all young professionals engaged in EU affairs and politics.

Sir Graham Watson, president of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe and a Member of APCO Worldwide's International Advisory Council has over 20 years of experience working as an MEP. He has had a long and distinguished career in European politics and is an expert in European affairs.

During his extensive experience in the European Parliament, Sir Graham Watson served as leader of the ALDE Group at a time when the group grew to become the largest third party ever in the EP. He was a member of the Committee for Economic & Monetary Affairs and Industrial Policy and also served on the Budgets Committee for five years. Sir Graham also served as chairman of the Committee on Citizens' Freedoms and Rights, Justice and Home Affairs. Towards the end of his career in the European Parliament he served on the Foreign Affairs Committee, in addition to his work as a member of the European Parliament's delegations to China and chair of its delegation to India.
