Ms Cristina Lobillo Borrero is the Head of Cabinet to Commissioner Arias Canete in the European Commission for Climate Action and Energy since October 2014. Prior to her current position, Ms Lobillo Borrero was the assistant to the Director General, DG Trade in 2011 and the assistant to Director General DG AGRI in 2010.
Before to working in the European Commission as the Head of Cabinet, Ms Cristina Lobillo Borrero started her political career as a Stagiaire in the European Commission, in the DG l (External Economic Relations) D: Latin America. Unit: South America in 1994 and later became the Stagiaire to Head of Cabinet of Commissioner Marín (Vicepresident of the Commission).
Ms Lobillo Borrero later became the researcher and analyst of jurisprudence of the EC Court of Justice at the University of Alcala de Henares, in Madrid and later worked at the Andalucia Regional Government for the Presidency of Regional Government: DG European Union and Development in Seville in 1996.
Ms Lobillo Borrero moved back to Madrid in 1996 as a lecturer on Common Agriculture and Fisheries Policies in the ESAE/ALITER: Master on European Union Affairs before becoming the Minister Loyola de Palacio's Cabinet: Adviser for European Union Affairs at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food following the same year.
In 1999, Ms Lobillo Borrero moved back to Brussels to work in the European Commission as a Consultant dealing with Evaluation of LIFE Programme projects in DG XI: Environment, Nuclear Security and Civil Protection.
Ms Lobillo Borrero attended School of Law: University of Cordoba during her post-graduate in Economics and Law in the process of European Integration in 1993 and obtained a law degree at the Universities of Cordoba and Siena (1987-1992)
