At this Single Market Task Force briefing, Isolde Murphy, First Secretary Customs, Excise and Energy Taxation, will lead us through the developing British priorities of customs. This is a keenly anticipated area of discussion for the second round of Brexit negotiations.


First Secretary, Customs, Excise and Energy Taxation | UK Permanent Representation to EU

Isolde studied in European Studies in Trinity College Dublin, followed by a masters in History at the University of Cambridge. Since she has worked in the European Parliament, followed by roles in HM Treasury focussing on indirect tax and European economic and financial policy. She is currently seconded from HM Revenue & Customs to the UK Representation to the EU in Brussels, as First Secretary Fiscal and Customs, covering customs, excise and energy taxation, while also serving as a UK attaché to the World Customs Organisation.

This event is held under the Chatham House Rule.
