The EU Committee cordially invites you to attend our quarterly briefing from the UK Permanent Representative to the EU. For this quarter we are happy to welcome Robert Tinline, Counsellor – Political and Institutional Affairs, UK Permanent Representation to the EU, who will give a briefing on the topic of The political direction of the EU: a UK perspective.
Robert Tinline is political counsellor at the UK permanent representation to the EU. Mr Tinline is a career diplomat, having previously served in Bogota, New York, Basra and Madrid. He has worked in the foreign office in London on issues including disarmament, counter-terrorism, the Israeli-Palestine conflict. He has also served as an FCO spokesperson, and most recently lead the consular assistance programme worldwide.

08:50 - 09:10 Robert Tinline will present on The political direction of the EU: a UK perspective
09:10 - 09:55 The Chair will then moderate a Q&A session between the audience and Robert Tinline
09:55 - 10:00 The Chair will then close the event and will give attendees the opportunity to suggest ideas for future events
