Britain's European Commissioner, Jonathan Hill, has been entrusted with the critical portfolio of Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union. Commissioner Hill's main responsibilities are to ensure that financial markets are properly regulated and supervised so that they are stable, competitive and transparent, at the service of jobs and growth; implementation of the Banking Union; and to establish a European Capital Markets Union by 2019.

Matthew Baldwin, Commissioner Hill's chef de cabinet, will provide members with a detailed overview of his team's roles and responsibilities in achieving these aims in the coming years.
