Roberto Viola will brief members on his new role as Director-General of DG CNECT and state the priorities they intend to pursue.

As well as delivering a short keynote speech Mr Viola will take part in an extended Q&A session

In 1983 Roberto Viola received a doctor degree in electronic engineering, multimedia applications research programme at the University of Rome la Sapienza and later completed his Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) at OU Business School, Milton Keynes, UK. Since 1985, Mr Viola has been working in telecommunication and technology at a number of different companies including the European Space Agency and AGCOM. In 2012 Mr Viola became the Deputy Director-General of DG CNECT and he has now, in 2015, taken his new role as Director General of DG CNECT.
