Food Labelling: Country of Origin with Renate Sommer MEP, Camille Perrin, BEUC and Alexander Anton, European Dairy Association

Country of origin labelling: a question of transparency or nationalism? From January 2017, France will be trailing mandatory country of origin labelling for processed meat and dairy products. More European countries, such as Italy, Greece, Finland, Lithuania and Portugal, are now requesting similar procedures to guarantee trust and transparency to consumers. The opponents lament the negative impact the country of origin labelling would have on the EU Single Market.

Commissioner Dinner with Commissioner Vytenis Andriukaitis on "Health and Food Safety: Looking Back and Looking Ahead"

Over a three-course dinner, EU Commissioner for Health and Food Safety Vytenis Andriukaitis will deliver a keynote speech on "Health and Food Safety: Looking Back and Looking Ahead". More than halfway through, the Commissioner will discuss what he has fostered regarding health and food safety as well as the upcoming challenges to improve public health and ensure Europe's food is safe.
