Christian Braun

Permanent Representation of Luxembourg to the EU

Christian Braun has served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, and Permanent Representative of Luxembourg to the EU, since 2008 having previously served as Deputy Permanent Representative to the EU between 2002 and 2005. In between 2005 and 2008 he simultaneously represented Luxembourg as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to both Austria and Slovenia, as well as serving as the Permanent Representative to the Vienna-based international organisations (UNOV, IAEA, UNIDO and CTBTO). A lawyer by training Ambassador Braun has also worked as Director for International Economic Relations at Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Luxembourg, and was Executive Secretary of the Peace Conference for Yugoslavia (The Hague) in the early 1990s.
