Nicolas Erb studied Political Science in France and graduated from the College of Europe. He joined UNIFE in 2001 where has was involved in contributing to and managing different research projects co-funded by the EU, ERTMS and the Railway European Technology Platform ERRAC and contributed to the work of the European Association for Railway Interoperability. He joined Alstom in 2005 and has held different positions: first in Strategy & Business Development, consolidating and looking after Alstom Transport’s commercial strategy in Northern Europe. Then as Mergers & Acquisition Manager he carried out various projects setting up partnerships extending Alstom’s reach and portfolio. He became European Affairs Director for Alstom Transport in 2012, before leading the Alstom European Affairs team from 2015, as part of Alstom’s Strategy department. Nicolas represents Alstom in a number of organizations such as UITP, Hydrogen Europe and the Platform for Electromobility and contributes to several expert groups from the European Commission.
